OH I’d like to visit the moon

I got in trouble for this shot, I was climbing on the roof to get it. So I hope you like it, because it’s the cover of my next album entitled  “I really need a band.”

Food! At long last

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

So far this has been Peter’s biggest catch! This kid is crazy. While the rest of us struggle to open our eyelids at 7:30 or so, Peter has already been down to the river and back again. And then, being the good fisherman that he is, he heads out again before we have to work.

Like I said- the kid is crazy, but he’s having a blast. I think this fish was a fourteen incher. So not the biggest fish ever caught, but it tasted good, and Peter has promised us more. dscn2328.jpg

The sunset is never the same twice

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Since we’ve been out here, I haven’t had much of a chance to watch the sun set. But those moments when I can are when I realize the unlimited potential that all of us possess.

Just last night, I watched the sun setting over the ocean, and I kicked myself because I forgot to charge the battery in my camera.  This is just one of the sunsets that I’ve been able to get, I know its not the best, but I hope to capture many more. The sun sets only once, and is never the same again.

All of us together

Well, this is what our party out here looks like. I was trying to climb on the hood of the car to get a good shot when another guy steps out of his truck and says,  “let me take your picture before you kill yourself kid.”  So I let him take the picture and we would have gotten more, but my battery went dead right then. So that’s us, for the most part. anyway. All of us together.

Live!

One of the best experiences was to see the Ocean. Like they say in all the songs… you feel very small, and very alive. Somewhere out there!

Hey!

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

Ahhhhhh! I’m a part of civilization again! Oh how wonderful a feeling! Thanks Dad, I apreciate it.

Everybody out here is doing great, and having lots of fun. If you call sitting on a tractor for three hours fun, then I wish I could trade places with any one of you, but I wouldn’t trade anything else.

Everything out here is constant and majestic. By constant, I mean the way the water runs through the river bed, and the way Peter keeps growing. By majestic, I mean the way I feel watching the sunset fade into night, and the way the trees stand as tall as the mountains themselves.

Sorry that there’s not a picture with this post.  I’m having trouble with interfacing the camera to the Siletz Library computer, but I’ll get it worked out soon. My best to everyone back home, and here’s hoping that you’ll have a watermellon soon.  (:

Happy Birthday Michael!

Thinking of you son.  Go ahead and post some thoughts, a favorite photo with comments, and upload all of your photos to your photo album.  It’s the gift of   ‘expression’.
